Official score to Palo Alto from Devonte Hynes. After 2013’s critically-acclaimed Cupid Deluxe left Blood Orange aka Devonte Hynes’ name on everyone’s radar, it comes as no surprise that the British producer/singer/songwriter got tapped to score this James Franco/Gia Coppola flick. Here Hynes showcases feelings of lost emotion and isolation, similar to those on Cupid Deluxe, but in the form of shorter soundscape pieces that fit the role of a soundtrack perfectly. With plenty of cinematic strings, pads, slow synths, and a bit of mallet percussion, Hynes sets a fitting tone for the film. Thankfully we are also treated to some vocals by way of the title track “Palo Alto” that gives Hynes voice some well deserved shine. 18 tracks in all with free mp3 download.
